Repeat Row 1 for seed stitches.

CO 53 stitches; work 1x1 rib for first two rows (border).

Begin Pattern: Brocade stitch (multiple of 12 stitches + 5; 12 row repeat)

ROW 1 (RS): K1, p1, k1, * p1, k9, p1, k1; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, p1, k1.

ROW 2: K1, p1, k1, * p1, k1, p7, k1, p1, k1; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, p1, k1.

ROW 3: K1, p1, k1, * p1, k1, p1, k5, [p1, k1] twice; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, p1, k1.
